Birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday. Not sure how I feel about that. I'm usually really excited about birthdays. I think it's really important to celebrate people on the day they were born and to make them feel really special. However, as of late, I've felt that I wouldn't mind if this one just slid on by. It has nothing to do with age; I feel pretty young. Just not so excited.... I guess we'll just have to see how tomorrow goes.

Willow Grace Wednesday

We went shopping at Opry Mills Mall on Saturday with Nana and Aunt Eva Joy, and Willow Grace got to take her first ride on a carousel. She started cracking up as soon as the ride began! She really loved it; I can't wait to take her again. Chris and Willow Grace were just playing it cool at Carrabba's after Eva Joy's birthday lunch on Sunday. (Happy Birthday, Eva Joy. We love you!)

~My Husband Rocks!~ Friday

My wonderful husband rocks because even though yesterday was his birthday, he put his own feelings and wants aside and was there for me. A phenomenal lady who was my friend and colleague died this week, and yesterday was her funeral. Such a beautiful ceremony! Chris took half of the day off to go with me. I can't tell you what it meant to me to have him sitting there next to me and to feel that strong arm around my shoulders. What a comfort! I honestly don't know how I would have handled it without him.

To add to that, he also had to work really late last night and didn't get home until both Willow Grace and I were in bed. Not much of a birthday. At least there were presents, 3 cards (I just couldn't choose!), and a nice breakfast yesterday morning since neither of us went to work before the funeral. Still, I will find a way to make it all up to him. He deserves a crazy-good birthday for how good he's been to me.

Oh, he also rocks because he's so cute, and I love how we match with our blue and black in this picture!

Under the radar....

I'm flying low today since I went to bed with a developing migraine last night which only grew worse overnight and was full-blown this morning which meant that I didn't get to workout. ): I don't generally drink Coke during the week, but today I started the day with one. Cokes always help to decrease the pain. The good news is that the pain has finally started to abate, and I so I should be my normal bouncy, cheerful self by this afternoon. I really need to be since I'm planning a quick trip to the mall to return a few things and pick up a couple birthday presents.

I hope your day is going well.

Happy Birthday Willow Grace!

Since our camera doesn't work any longer (have to get another very soon), we were just able to get pictures back from Chris's mom from Willow Grace's birthday. I can't believe that she turned one already! What a year it's been!
We celebrated at Chris's parents house with about 30 guests. Among other things, for our refreshments we had Tigger's Terrific Tortilla Chips and salsa; Eeyore's Dressed Eggs; carrots, grape tomatoes, and broccoli from Rabbit's Vegetable Garden, Roo's Red Grapes, and Piglet's Party Punch. I displayed little cards next to each item. Though she seemed quite confused by all of the attention she was getting, she seemed to enjoy all of her presents. Some of the best moments were watching her face while she heard "Happy Birthday" being sang to her for the first time, seeing her dance while her daddy and Uncle Marty played their guitars, and finally getting her to eat a bit of her cake after everyone had gone.
